As technology continues to advance, the synoptophore remains a cornerstone in the comprehensive care of patients with strabismus, amblyopia, and other related conditions.
Product Description
For generations, the Synoptophore has been THE standard instrument of choice for the busy Orthoptic clinic.
It is ideal for the assessment and treatment of ocular motility disorders by reliably performing the most comprehensive binocular vision assessment available today.
The synoptophore, equipped with a stable platform to support the instrument during examinations. Houses the electrical and mechanical components necessary for its various functions. Two eyepiece tubes allow the patient and the examiner to view separate images simultaneously. These tubes can be adjusted to accommodate the interpupillary distance for accurate assessment. Positioned to reflect images onto the patient's retina, facilitating the examination of eye movement and coordination. Evaluates eye movement and alignment to detect conditions like strabismus. Determines the level of fusion and stereopsis, which is vital for normal binocular vision. Utilized in the management of amblyopia by encouraging the use of the weaker eye through occlusion therapy.
